1. Clark's is too far to be hiking to get water from Tooth Ridge Camp.
The closest water would be the North Fork Urraca via the Stockade
trail. But I don't think that Philmont likes participants hiking on
that trail. Lots of people spend the night at Tooth Ridge camp
without getting more water. There have already been some good
suggestions on how to do that.

2. Burro racing is fun. But only if the kids are willing to put the
effort into making it fun. Those scouts that are "too cool" to do the
burro racing will only be hurting themselves. Rangers actually did a
burro race in 1999 at the end of training. It was alot of fun. I about
puked from running so hard :)

3. Never got to ride a horse as I am a big kid (+200 lbs)
