Also the "trail" between Old Abreu and Carson Meadows is basically a fire
road. Not improved at all, no switchbacks and if it is wet (like it was
when we went last year), slippery as all get-out. Being as it is a new
camp, the campsites themselves are very nice. In fact, while we were
camping there last year, the CONS crew was just installing one of the bear
cables. We got to camp on "virgin" meadow which was a very nice change
from the "asphalt" we camped on the night before.... YIS. Mike ('76, '-2,

It’s a new staff camp not too far southwest of Abreu. There will be water
– it’s piped up from Abreu. They attempted to drill a well at the camp,
but they hit nothing after 800 feet so it ended up a very deep dry well.

I know that Carson Meadows has been mentioned before, but it is hard
to keep up with all on this list. I'm also sure that my new maps
will show it. The old ones don't. Even listed as "dry" camp in some
places. Help?? Thanks in advance.
