Typically, the only changes allowed for itineraries have been for some
medical reason; a member of a crew is sick and needs a layover. Remember, Philmont
can have up to 300 crews on the trail each day!!! Logistics is there to get
crews briefed up and ready to hit the trail, not to manage changes. Philmont
needs to know where every crew is each night. During the 2000 fires when the
staff came out to evacuate crews, they spent an extraordinary amount of time
trying to find crews that decided on their own, to camp at a location different
than the one that they had been assigned. Please, for your crew's sake and
Philmont, stick to your trek.
