Not a bear expert, but generally, in wet conditions, the flora in the bear's
habitat produces more. When the ready supply of food is not as great as
needed, then the bear has to migrate further from home to find forage.
Eventually, that can mean that she might stray near or into campsites.
That's when it gets ugly. No longer are the bears simply curious about
smells, they're hungry too.
