Tarp should be the first thing set up every night. Drop packs, set up tarp.
Move packs under tarp while crew sets up tents. Move packs to tents. Kitchen
crew starts work if time and rest of crew cleans up area, and sets up camp.

In the morning reverse the procedure. No matter what the tarp is there for
protection of the packs if things get bad quickly. Easy to set up and the
packs are protected.

We set it up every night. It becomes just one of the steps in camp set up
and is part of the duty roster. With the groups I have been with, making
the decision to set up or not set up would take as long or longer than just
setting up the tarp.

We also put a small twig in the eyelet to keep the ring from ripping out. I
would rather put the fly back up instead of having a rip in it.

While we are on the dining fly thing. Do you all set the fly up every
night? I don't.
