Greetings All,
First, I haven't received anything from the list in two days, and I'm
going through withdrawal.
Second, I have done a comparison of the 2006 vs. 2005 itineraries, and
noted some differences. Treks 7, 15, 19, and 27 have some major changes
from last year, 15 and 27 now include Baldy for example. There are also
some minor changes in a number of others; for example 28 and 29 now
include Shaefers Pass and then catch up over the next two days, I
presume to allow more time for crews to side hike to the Tooth of Time.
Others have changed to a camp in the same general area, for example
Sawmill to Lower Sawmill and Turkey Creek for Upper Bench, again
presumably to spread the load and/or allow camps to recover. In the
case of the example cited, it might also be to move away from a Dry
camp.
Happy Trails,
Roy Fisher
