For those who want to see the 06 itinerary changes, I have posted a
5-year (2006-2002) cross reference for each trek at
http://www.troop116.org/philmont/phlitinxref.htm
This is a summary page with selected features shown for each
trek. If you click on any trek number you can see the complete list
with changed camps in red, program features, etc. (This replaces the
one I had out there in past years that went all the way back to
1999. If you really want to go back that far, follow the link back
to Troop 116 Philmont Page and look under Reference Material - Old.)
Of note, Trek 32 has removed the description regarding Burro Packing
in the Program Features column. But in the Treks book chart labeled
"2006 Itineraries Include These Programs" on page 96, Burro Packing
is still checked for #32. I've noticed on other items, these summary
charts in the Treks books sometimes don't get updated to correspond
with changes to the actual itinerary page. I suspect the specific
itinerary page rules. (Wish I had discovered this sooner or #32
would have rated higher on our already sent in request card.)
Someone reported earlier they were advised not to send the itinerary
request card other than US mail. Wonder who would say that -
why? In the Treks book under "Reserving your Itinerary for 12 Day
Expeditions" on page 13, it states "Cards may be mailed first class,
sent by Fed Ex or UPS, or by any other delivery service. PLEASE SEND
THE ORIGINAL CARD . . ." Our council sent their request cards last
year by USPS Express 2-day guarantee - went from NC to NY to GA to NY
to NM. Took 10 days. Got 4th choice on one crew. (Got money back
from USPS.) Guess this can happen to anyone.
Let me know if any errors found in my hurriedly posted charts. I
tired to be careful, but you never know.
