As you have seen, the posters on this list have their favorites. We also,
sometimes, tend to phrase things in a way that minimizes other ways of doing
things. We used the one pot method for our first 4 treks. Then, on this
list, someone mentioned Turkey Bags (look in the archives), and our scouts will
never go back. They tell us that they ARE ABLE to cook in a pot, so that is
not the issue. They feel it saves both time (prep. and cleanup) and water.
It is marginally heavier. Whatever your boys choose, make sure you have done
it on your practice hikes. Downside was that we had a bad batch and they
were tearing. Will carry more next time. Very light when empty.
 
BTW...what was the comment about wearing camo? I wore camo pants last
summer without a word being said. Great pants.
