[Philmont]: Digest Mode

Over the past few months, I have seen several requests to this list to have
"thread" information deleted from responses because it makes the messages
longer, mainly for the folks in digest mode (an accurate summarization?).
Well, I feel I have to weigh in with my 2 cents worth. I am one who
appreciates the thread information as a non-digest'r because, without it,
sometimes the bare-bones response doesn't make sense. Especially when a
subject item has gone back and forth a couple of times. I guess digest'rs
can scroll down in their digest to find the original comment, but those of
us who read and discard the original messages lose the train of thought
without the historical "thread" information. Not looking for any flames,
just felt "the dark side of the force" should be expressed.... YIS. Mike
