Re: [Philmont]: Cons Projects

Our Crew did Trek 12 in 2005 and our cons project working on switchbacks on
Bonita Peak. As I recall it was an hour hike up to the site and an hour back
with a good three hours work. We did ours in the morning, the whole morning
while our sister Crew did it in the afternoon and got rained out 30 minutes
after they got up there. Hour walk back in the rain : (. At Cyphers (our
second choice for cons) the project was right at the camp (although we stayed
at Lamberts Mine Camp). I would strongly consider where in relation to your
Camp the cons project is before signing up for it. The info was given to our
Crew leader and his decision was to do Beaubien because of the layover.
