Phillips Junction, or PJ is a commissary, shower house and trading pst ...
no camp, no activities, just a food p/u. In '04 Trek 4's food pickups were
labeled PJ1 and PJ2 (and UG later in the trek), the first was just enough
food to get you through your stay at Beaubien, you sent a runner down to PJ
during the first day of your stay, the second you picked up as you went past
PJ on the way from Beaubien to Crooked Creek. In 05 and later it appears
that the two PJ pickups have been combined. The 2004 photos on the website
below are all trek 4. Dan's site is a great resource.

Don't rule out the possibility of a trek being rerouted mid season. Not
saying it happened but
the treks definitely change from year to year, for a variety of reasons
(largely related to
conservation issues).

I recall a lot of uncertainty in 1965 as a crew member as to what we were
going to be able
to trek, because of the "great flood" that had recently occurred.
(According to Minor Huffman's
book of recollections, Joe Davis, a legendary professional Scouter, was
welcomed to Philmont by the "great flood" around this time).

Dan Yoder has info on Trek 4 at

http://www.danyoder.com/philmont/trek.asp?trek=4

It mentions Beaubien but not Phillips Junction.
