[Philmont]: Crew Leaders?

One of our troop's two Philmont Crews this summer are from the same patrol (all same year in school). All three advisors and most of the nine boys have been together since they were Tiger Cubs, a few of the boys have known each other their entire lives. They have worked closely as a patrol for the past 4 years, including two trips to the Northern Tier. They have not used or needed a duty roster since their first year in scouts, they just "Get-er-Done" with little or no supervision.

They have asked if it is possible for them to rotate the "Crew Leader" position during the trek. It is very common for these guys to rotate jobs, and it seems to work good for them. Will this work at Philmont for the Crew Leader?
