Greetings. I know we had a good discussion going a month or so ago
regarding the possibility of using the new JetBoil stove systems at
Philmont. I have been in communication with the folks at JetBoil esp.
regarding their new Group Cooking System, which isn't slated to hit
retail until April. It has 50% capacity increase over the simple
JetBoil cup and some other features. They were intrigued at the concept
of this List so I have invited their Outdoor products guy, David Eckels,
to come and hear what we have to say about their products.

I will also forward related responses to JetBoil if there are any on
here who intend to use the system, either in prep hikes for Philmont /
Canoe Base or on the treks themselves.

JetBoil is very curious as to how well their products work over extended
spans of time and with real people in field conditions. So am I!! They
are supporters of the BSA and I will let their outdoor products manager
address any issues, concerns or observations you may have.

I have a JetBoil and think it's a great product but am not sure if the
value to weight ratio is there for a group trek like Philmont.
