Hi, all
Our troop will be in ABQ for 2.5 days prior to the trek.

Looks like we are doing Rattlesnake Museum on Wed. afternoon, that leaves Wed. eve., all day Thursday, then leaving to go to Philmont via Santa Fe, Chimayo, and Taos. We would like to fit the Petroglyph Monument west of ABQ and possibly Bandelier in there somewhere.

Has anyone been to the Atomic Museum in ABQ or Los Alamos?

The Bradbury Science Museum in Los Alamos is worth seeing. You could stop in Santa Fe on the way to or from Los Alamos. I have seen many Scouts around the Plaza in downtown Santa Fe.
How about the Museum of Natural History, it looks like they have some huge dinosaurs there (we do not have that at all here in SC)? Is it worth the visit? Would it be better to do it rather than the Rattlesnake Museum?
Both are good, and both are in Old Town in Albuquerque, and Old Town is well worth your time, too.

Some other possibilities are:

The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center
National Hispanic Cultural Center
Sadie's Restaurant for a, not too expensive, taste of New Mexico.
Albuquerque International Balloon Museum
Beside eating at Blakes Lotta Burger, and the Sandia Tram, any other "must sees"?
