a diuretic and will make staying hydrated that much more difficult, not
to mention increasing your need for water on the trail. This effect may
be insidious, and thus even more threatening."
 
I agree and that is why I will limit it to one cup per day, in the
morning. Which should be followed with a liter of water.
If we are at a dry camp and short on water I will try to skip it.
