You know my experience has been just the opposite.
We ran a pot of hot water every morning in both 97 and 00 treks. Ran the
pot while breaking tents and repacking the packs. Never had an issue with
timing. Once the crew got into the routine they were so looking forward to
the program areas we had no trouble hitting the trail in a timely manner.
