[philmont] What would you do??

In addition to the other advice you have already received, check the
boots, and definitely re-adjust the pack. An SPL who doesn't complain
about personal discomfort and/or personal weakness, and is "doing a
great job" otherwise,is worth working for. And don't forget, he still
has 3 - 4 months to go.
