I'm late for a meeting, but I gotta weigh in on this one. I drink about 15
cups a day normally and did nothing to wean myself off. I has no problems on
the trail and only had morning coffee a few times. I did find that I picked
up a new habit of popping 2 Advil's every morning in place of coffee, for
other reasons. It made the first mile a little easier.
Another consideration is the use of water for your coffee, sometimes every
drop counts and you have to let the pleasures go by the wayside.
