What great posts, I am inspired!!!

The other advisor and I expressed our concern to his mom last night, she is not worried. She looked me straight in the eye and said "he can make it." He had a knee injury a yr ago, and still hiked the Sierras last summer. She said her son will probably always have knee problems from the knee injury. Last summer the school group wouldn't let him use his treking poles, glad he has them to use with us.

Our next business meeing is this SUN afternoon, a PACK check. We'll see what he actually has in his pack at that point. He is wearing low top "shoes/boots" to hike in too. The suggestion to check his boots was also a very valid point of possible problems.

thanks for all your suggestions. The wisdom in this group is a wonderful resource.

My own boys are Eagles, in college...........you all have reminded me of one of the reasons I keep doing this. thanksKim Pigorsch Philmont '99, '03, '07 (724-T) Troop 681 Outdoor Chairmun (sic) www.troop681.com - troop website www.sdicbsa.org - Council Website San Diego, CA
