I travel a lot. My commute car for 2003-2006 was a 737.
That story is also a credit and a bad call for Southwest Airlines. I
was going to Denver. My bags choose not to make the trip with me. Most
of Jim Moss's advice was followed.
When the bags were found Southwest gave my wife the option of sending
them to Denver, ABQ or back to my house. I was at the ranch and it was
way to far to drive them to me.
After begging and crying about how critical getting these bags to me was
someone with a Scouting background agreed to have the bags driven to me.
Had I not got my bags I would have survived. I would haver done the
hikes in my sandals and by the time we confirmed by bags were with me I
had purchased enough Philmont Branded gear to survive.
But the key message here is to assume bad is going to happen to a lot of
people. Be Prepared and make yourself as small a target as possible.
