Tip #1: BRING HANGERS.

Okay, PTC, what fun. I, too, am going to a PTC class this summer, but in
June.
I went to a PTC session in 2002. Information about the PTC sessions can be
found on Seldon's excellent Philmont website,
http://www.lns.cornell.edu/~seb/philmont.html

Reports on PTC and mountain trek experiences can be found there.

Tip # 2: BRING A CHAIR

I mention hangers because you have a little mini-closet in your tent in PTC
but no hangers,
and your uniform will get pretty gnarly by the end of a week if you don't
have the ability
to hang it up. You also have a single lightbulb for light, but that gives
you access to
electric power, so an electric heater (and an extension cord) would not go
astray to
keep those experienced bones limber.

Tip #3: Bring a piece of carpet or turf.

You will have many chances to sit outside, either during classes, around
your tent or
in the grassy area at the center of the compound. Having a chair just
makes things easier.

The tents are in a less grassy area and having the carpet will help keep
your tent clean.

Tip #4: review the stuff on Seldons page.

Lots of tips there.

Don Roberts
