[philmont] Information

Jim is absolutely correct, and his remarks are an excellent reminder to
crews that 'double dipping' is nice, but Ranger training comes first. I
fully expect our crew to be ready for the challenges of Philmont, but I also
expect them to be willing to do what has to be done to show that they are
and if the Ranger thinks otherwise, to pay attention and learn where they
need to improve.

Happy Trails,

Roy Fisher

WRT "Maybe the Ranger will be more accommodating if we offer to buy him/her
a root beer too."

You will discover that your Ranger's flexibility with the crew on trail day
1 is directly in proportion to his opinion of the crew's level of
preparedness. To be clear the crew's program on trail day 1 *IS* Ramger
Training.
