Have no doubt, the Ranger is in charge of Days 1-3. On one of my treks, we
decided to do Cons on Day 2. Being well prepared, the Ranger had no problem.
We had all members of the Crew there, including the Adults. (In the OLD
days (pre 2001???) the Adults didn't always have to do Cons.) The Cons guy at
Cimmeroncito said we could not do Cons on a Ranger trainning day. I pointed
out our Ranger was with us and that he had no problems with it. Cons said
no. Knowing that we had satified the Ranger and could get our Cons project out
of the way, I had a private discussion with the Cons guy. We started after
lunch. The Ranger is in charge of Days 1-3. IF you can prove your knowledge
and skills, he/she will do things differently (if they are not stuck in the
regimen.)

My advice is always worth what it costs you on this list.
