[Philmont]: Reflections after 10 months

I have been sending some information on our Trek from last year. (2001
618-J) Trek 11. To a first time advisor who contacted me via this list.
This caused me to reflect again on my adventure (it was my first trip to
Philmont) after 10 months.

I decided to share this thought with all of you.

If you are there with your son or daughter. Take some time every few days
to go for a short walk with them alone and then shut up and just listen. I
was surprised how easy it was to get him to go do this and later on during
the trip how he even asked if I would take a walk with him. My best
memories of the trip (10 months later) are the walks with him and how he
opened up and talked about things he would never talk about at home. He
will be 17 in a few months and we don't talk much about the trip but
somehow both he and I know each other better because we spent 12 days as
part of a crew in the High Mountains of New Mexico.

I want to go back. With My Son!!!!!
