Well, I wasn't personally planning on wiping any Scout's hands for him,
but as long as we're on the topic....

If you're going to use the quick-evaporating spritz (Purel or whatever),
get the hypoallergenic versions - they have no added perfumes and
virtually no scent once the alcohol evaporates.

As far as the Antibacterial Wet-Ones are concerned, I don't believe they
come in "flavors", and my recollection is they just smell slightly
"mediciny", if you know what I mean. But regardless, after your Scouts'
hands (and clothes, and camp-shoes) are covered with Beef Stroganoff or
Turkey Tetrazeni or 3-Berry Cobbler dust, the trace residual smell of a
Wet-One underneath it all will be the least of their bear safety
problems.

BTW, you *can* brush your teeth after 2:00 pm (and please do!) - you
just shouldn't use a non-natural flavored toothpaste, and you should
always brush at the sump. Personally, I don't use toothpaste at all on
the trail; unless you're Puff the Magic Dragon, you don't need
toothpaste anyway. On bathing, rules vary from camp to camp - (if
available) some camps cut off showers as early as 3:00 pm, but others
allow it as late as 5:00 pm. I can't explain these variances, but they
do exist. But regardless, if your cooks smell like bear hors d'oevres
after KP, they'd better get cleaned up, even if it's just with plain
water, no matter how late it is. This is one of those semi-hidden
bear-safety issues I was alluding to a few weeks back.
