I am reminded of a quote attributed to W. C. Fields when asked if he would care
for a glass of water, to which he replied: "Water? agh, fish ____ in it."
As long as no soap was used, a refreshing dip in a mountain stream is not
contrary to my understanding of LNT principles. Whether or not one *should*
take a refreshing dip in a mountain stream of course depends on the number of
potential other "dippers", land management regulations, impacts on wildlife and
other factors.
And finally, that's why we all treat our water!
Happy Trails
