[Philmont]: Fire and Water

As a group we appear to be intensely interested in and
willing to
disect, in gory detail, any and all things Philmont. To
that end i ran
across a couple of interesting web sites, particularly
for those who
can't get enough of the minutia of what will be on their
trek. As the
subject line indicates these web sites deal with fire
and water. The
first is the National InteragencyFire Center
www.nifc.gov which can
tell you more than you want to know about wildfires
raging in the lower
48, includes links to any and everybody that fights
wildfires. The other
is the Drought Monitor, a site maintained by UNLV and
includes all the
information and all the links to all the people who deal
with water and
drought, USGS, AG, all the states, NOAA etc. Check it
out at
www.drought.unl.edu/dm/index.html
Hope these give everyone more things to digest!
