I agree with Coop, go through Lambert's. Once you pass Comanche Pass the
hike is all down hill along the middle fork of Cimarroncito creek past
Hunters lodge and the reservour.
We lost count of how many times we crossed the creek. I realy enjoyed this
hike.

Folks have had real problems on the trail from Black Mountain down the
ridge to Shaffer's Pass, just because the route is used so infrequently.
The trail is poorly marked and I have heard of more than one crew having
difficultly. Perhaps my good friend, Dr. Bob Klein will relate his story
of trying to find the trail. My vote would be to go thru Lamberts down to
Hunting Lodge and into Clark's Fork.
