I just want to echo Glenn's comment about taking rewetting solution. About
half our crew (including myself) wore contacts of one variety or another so we
had a small bottle included in our first aid kit, although we didn't need it
much once we left base camp. BTW the wind and dust there can really be a
problem. I don't recall if it was mentioned in previous posts, but a spare
pair is also good insurance against damage or loss.
In 1999 contacts and contact solution weren't considered smellables (it was
recommended that the case be kept under your clothes or in your shoes), but
this may have changed since then and would be worth checking on.
Happy Trails,
Roy
