Re: [Philmont]: Wait List

We were No. 89 on the wait list. We were notified on November 11, 2001,
that we were given an open spot departing on August 5. We were given a
choice of three dates early in August.

I attended the Training Center in June and checked in with Registration. At
that time I was told that it was unlikely we would be called. Only two
groups on the wait list had been notified at that time. I understand that
in 2001, they reached down several hundred, however this was caused more
from Councils overbooking during a National Jamboree year.

Later I heard through my Council that a number of units cancelled or reduced
the number of treks following Sept. 11.
Hope this helps you. If I were you, I would begin planning and tell the
boys to start saving their money just in case.
