FWIW-

I wore glasses, I was dumb and only took one pair with
me. I was dum and didn't take a repair kit of any
kind, just wore them as i do any other day. I never
had any kind of problem, and while I recommend both of
the things i didn't do, i got along fine. I do have
transition lenses which came in nice because i don't
have to worry about taking a pair of sunglasses, or
wishing you had.
That's what worked for me when I wen't out there, Also
i never have mastered the art of putting contacts in,
even with a mirror, so contacts probably arn't my best
option
