I haven't read ahead yet, so maybe someone has already responded to this
comment.
 
As I recall, I scanned those mini-maps of Philmont in about 1994. I haven't
actually bought a map since then, but I am nearly certain that they have
been up dated since then. So, while this is an excellent way for everyone
in the crew to have a rough map of the whole trek, I would not use it for
critical navigation purposes.
