Our troop will have two crews arriving the first day of
the camping season as part of our council's 12-crew
contingent. One of our crews was scheduled to be on Trek
#17 which goes into the Valle Vidal.
Tim Doherty, Philmont Logistics, sent this e-mail to the
Advisor:
*****
You have chosen an itenerary that goes into the Valle
Vidal unit of the Carson National Forest for 1 or more
days. Due to the national forest closing, we have made
some changes to your itenerary to reroute your trek out
of the Valle Vidal. We will go over these changes in
Logistics apon your arrival at Philmont.

When the Advisor asked if the trek details would be
available prior to arrival and if the crew would have a
similar trek as far as difficulty, the reply was:
*****
We do not yet have the final copies of the "new"
itineraries. We have done everything we can to keep
your crew at the same difficulty, milage, and
activities. If your trek was going over baldy, then
that will still be the case. Thank you for your help.
