Cavalcade already has a system like this, Mark.

      All one has to do is send a letter to Philmont representing your
Troop (one per unit, please) asking to be put into the Cavalcade lottery
per year. They have the drawing in January and let you know if you were
drawn or not.

We got our Cavalcade slot the first time we tried in '00. Went in '02.

Haven't been so lucky since then ! 8^(>

I like this system and glad to hear that they are trying to incorporate the
same type of system into treks. Beats the jammed switchboard chaos of the
old system!

Thanks. Will short treks and Cavalcades be part of the new system--or just
12-day treks? (Last question, I promise!)
