With white gas we always leave the pump in the fuel
bottle on the trail. My primus stove instructions
encouraged it. It keeps the pump from coming in
contact with dust etc. We do release the pressure
after cooking.
For Philmont we'll take two PowerMax stoves (no fuel
bottles to ship!). We've been alternating between the
canisters & white gas on trainig hikes.
My goal is to expose the boys to as many types of gear
as possible.
YiS,
Rick
(a good ole buffalo too...)
