To the advice you've received, I can only add (from painful personal
experience) that a coffee drinker should be in charge of your crew's coffee
supply. Otherwise, the elixer of life might get tossed out with the yumyum
bag on, say, the third day of your trek. And then your only caffeine supply
would be the black sludge that backcountry staffers filter through used
sponges and dirty hiking socks.
