We are from Oklahoma so we never take a train (can only go do Dallas on it).
For long car rides, i.e. Philmont, or northern tier, I have the Scouts wear
their Class B T-shirt in the car and they hang their class A shirt up in the
back. At any stop, they have to put on their Class A properly to get out
and go inside. I am sure that there are Troops or groups of kids who this
would not work for, but it works for the Scouts in my Troop. They
appreciate getting to ride "comfortable" so they don't mind the trade off of
having to put on the Class A to get out. In fact, I have found that given
the hassle of putting the shirt on and off, more of the kids just wear the
Class A the whole time.
