The crew supplied equipment list indicates that each person should have 10 tent stakes. If I recall, from my 2002 adventure, I think we only used half that number - can someone confirm then number of stakes required for Philmont issue tents and the dinning fly

Comment...

Having slept in a Philmont tent this past weekend and conducted ten sessions of the "camp setup" portion of the Patriots' Path Council's Philmont training weekend for 18 crews, I can confirm that the blue tents take 14 stakes IF you double stake the front and rear lines and the 2 middle guys on each side for the tent and fly (if you're counting, that's 4 for the corners, 2 front for the front and rear guys, and 4 each for the guys on the sides). 7 per person.

The dining fly takes 8 stakes - 2 for the ridge line, 4 for the corners, 2 at the midpoints of the sides. Call that another 1 per person. 8 total.

The extra 2 (3 for some) take care of losses (it happens) and damage.

By the way, the retired green tents took 2 fewer, as they only have 1 midpoint guy on each side of the tent and fly.
