You might try the Koshares in Lajunta. They have a Kiva that they will
allow you to sleep in. You'll just need a sleeping bag and ground pad.
Plenty of restaurants too.

Pro: If your crew is into Indian lore this is a must see. Probably the
most extensive native American art and artifact collection in southern
Colorado. And it's all owned by a scout troop.
Con: about 70 miles east of Pueblo on Highway 50.
Opinion: Worth the 140 extra roundtrip miles.
Our troop has arrived as late as 9:00 when we have camped there, They
are very accommodating.

Subject: [Philmont]: Where is Good Place to Stay other than a Hotel in
Colorado Springs?
We just found out that the Scout hostel at Ft. Carson
near Colorado Springs was torn down. Are there any
alternatives other than hotels in Colorado Springs?
I've heard of the Holy Cross Abbey and have the
contact information, but I believe that's near Canon
City which is considerably south of Colorado Springs.
Do any local colleges have dorm space, or are there
any local camps with rooms available?
We're traveling by plane and don't have any plans to
be able to camp while sightseeing, so that option is
out.
We're still looking, but I thought I'd ask here. If I
find something other than a hotel I'll post that in
addition to my request.
Thanks.
YIS,
Matt Cole
