It was HARD for my crew to stay together at first, since my troop has
allowed this policy on troop backpacks.
Putting the slowest hiker in the lead will be hard for the Jackrabbits at
first, but over the course of the 10 days the jackrabbits slow down, the
turtle hiker (WHICH is ME), gets much faster and stronger, and builds
confidence.
EVERY one wins because the crew is together for everything. Separating is
not only against PHILMONT policy, it will fracture your crew
spirit...............work on building crew spirit, communication, and team
building BEFORE you get to PHILMONT. Don't let crews split up on training
hikes. The crew must learn to work together.
