  As another alternative to Desitin, Gold Bond (powder and ointment) and
Tucks wipes, may I suggest a product actually made for ANTI chafing?
  It is called Body Glide, and it has been used for years by surfers and
marathon runners to prevent chafing while still allowing sweat to escape.
According to the company president, (whom I wrote) although it is made from
all natural plant extracts and is essentially odorless, he does not purport
the product to be bear proof. But he did say that on a smell o meter (LOL)
it would certainly be low compared to above products. Body Glide comes in a
convenient roll on like deoderant. I am having difficulty locating it in
retail stores but it is available at REI.com.
