I have worn contacts on 4 treks and have had youth wear them also. First off, I would get the glasses, just in case, unless you can see ok without them.
I wear extended wear lenses so I pop in clean ones at base camp and they don't have to comeout until I get off the trail. I do carry a case with glasses, lens case, renu and a small mirror. I put the wetting drops with the stuff I carry on a daily basis. At night the whole contact lens kit goes in the toe of my boot, in case I ever needed it.
As far as my scouts, I have some people who wear daily disposables, so its not problem, pop a fresh pair in each am. Others use the case and pop em' in each am. In all cases we keep them with us in our boots, outside the sleeping area.
Alot of how you prepare will depend on your situation. If you don't have dry eyes and are not irritated alot at home, it should be fine.
One word of preparedness for the adults. Make sure you know who wears contacts. Find out what kind of solutions everyone uses, and where possible make sure that you use one or two that could be shared if necessary. Also put an extra lens case and wetting solution into your group first aid kit.
Otherwise, have fun and don't worry.
