I still have the old-fashioned gas-perm/rigid lenses and wore them on
our 2003 trek. I had no problems. I took along the travel size
wetting/soaking solution, and kept the case, solution, a clean
"contact-lens only" bandana, as well as a lightweight mirror (for
those rare days when you have to dig your lens out of your eye, when
asked I simply said it could double as a signaling mirror) in a
ziplock bag. Glasses do me no good, so I left them at home.
