[Philmont]: Mapping Program

For those of us that like to use mapping programs, there is a freeware program called TerraClient (http://billfriedrich.tripod.com/). The program will grab the free maps from the terraserver sites on the Internet and allow you to overlay the topo maps onto the satellite land photos.

I find it quite helpful when trying to visualize the area or get a better perspective of distance. For example, when I looked at Baldy Mountain, it gave me a clearer understanding on where Copper Park is in relation to Baldy Town. You can fade the topo back and forth to actually see the trails in the photos, etc. and it also gives a 3-D feel to the topos, making the mountains really pop out.
