Both Jim and Rob point out that there are great programs out there that will do your profiles for you. Let me offer a different solution. Let your each of your daily naviguessors do it the night before. Most youths have really never spent some quality time with a map and elevation and mileage are unknowns for them unless they are active in orienteering. If your youth members (with some careful counsel and perhaps assistance from you) do a profile by hand, then they will be much better prepared to brief the crew the night before and handle the naivguessor's duties once they are on the trail than if you were to hand them a card with it already printed on it. "Never do anything that a youth can do"
