Bob,
You are correct about the hump up to, and along Tooth Ridge. No one
warned our crews. During the middle of the day, there is no cover,
or shade. It was brutally hot. We ran out of water on top of the
Ridge. The hump from Tooth Camp to Base camp is a lot longer than
it looks on the map with lots of switchbacks. A good resupply point
for water is the staff camp just below Schafer's (I think it was
Clarks's Fork).
Schaeffers was running in the summer of 2001, we got about 1 quart
per minute.

However we will be on trek #5. From what I gather from previous
threads, the hike from Cimarroncito to Tooth Ridge is long, tough
and water is sometimes lacking.
