Re: [Philmont]: Fuel availability and interval on replenishment

Fuel is replenished at your Commissary stops. These are detailed on
your trek itinerary (the column on the right with the two letter
designators, e.g., UG = Ute Gulch Commissary).

Assuming you have properly trained your Scouts in proper stove usage,
and you are using standard stoves like Peak Ones 440's or MSR's, you
need about half a pint per meal per stove. If you're a novice Crew, you
should bring 3/4's of a pint per meal per stove out of Basecamp, until
you are self-convinced that you don't need that much (or perhaps, that
you DO need that much!), then adjust as needed at your first Commissary
stop.

Fuel can always be begged from neighboring Crews if you run out (I have
accommodated a number of beggars through the years), and if you are
passing through an "ending camp" like Clark's Fork, you may find Crews
looking to donate fuel to anyone who wants it, since they're heading
into Basecamp the next morning.
