On our trek last year in August we had everyone using a camelback that was 3
liters then they had 2 one liter nalgenes as backup. We also took nalgene
collapsible canteens for packing the water for the dry camps. We took three 3
liter and 3 48 oz containers. This provided enough to provide give everyone a
fresh liter for our crew of 12 with a small reserve. Dividing these out among the
crew is less of a problem than carrying a large 3 -5 gallon jug. You can buy
these at Campmor.
