Well, what you do is to wrap your feet where you have a blister with the
duct tape. What this does is to stick to your feet and become the "skin" on
your foot. I watched 2 people in 03 after using mole skin and duct tape to
go to just duct tape. Leave it on there till the sticky part doesn't work
any more. If not, the trick is to just like other tapes applied to the
skin, just get it started and then jerk it off all at once. This will get
you started if you were a sleep when removed. The trick to began with is to
have your feet fitted to the boots first, then have a pair of Super feet in
them, then have 50 + miles on your boots. The reason for the 50 + miles is
if you are going to have problems with your feet this should show up in this
amount of time. If your feet slip in your boot, you will have problems. If
your feet & boots are ready this will help prevent you from getting you in
trouble on the trail. One thing I have learned about tying your boots, when
you get to the hooks in your boots, instead of bring the string "under" the
hook,,,,, bring the string "over" the hook and back around over the string,
This makes the string hold pressure on the sting to help it from not loosing
up. This will help prevent you from hearing 5 minutes down the trail, hey,
"I need to retie my boots".

This advice is from 2004 Philmont Ranger Creighton "Bubba" Welch:

Wake up early.

Leave camp early.

Sleep in at least one morning; a morning when the hike is short and
easy.

Though tired, take all the side hikes and participate in all the
activities you can, it's only 10 days and you have a lifetime to sleep
at home.

Though the food will be "different," eat it, all. The more you eat and
drink, the better you'll feel and the more you'll get to use the red
roof.

Human sump, all the way.

Duct tape your feet, you won't get blisters.

Keep a journal. If it means leaving something else out of your pack, do
it. You don't really need a pillow anyways.

Enjoy.
