Look at it this way: The Micro-Pur weighs less.

There is no "E" in Micro Pur, but Polar Pure is spelled with an "E", so
the Micro Pur weighs less. One less letter on all those packages, think
of the weight of the ink that is saved. Oh sure, I know what you're
thinking: On one package it doesn't seem like much." I know, but think
of ALL those packages carried by All those scouts on All those
trails...it adds up!

Like Coop said, do what the ranger tells you. FWIW, IMHO, it's a valid
technique to practice on prep hikes conditions as close to Philmont as
possible. OTOH, leaving some things for your crews to learn out there
is a good way to keep anticipation and learning in front of them. Our
ranger told us it's really frustrating to get kids on Day 1 who have the
"Been there, done that" attitude.

Use Polar Pure on your preps and use Micro Pur at Philmont. Same
principle, similar technique, new stuff to learn. Cool beans, man.

And it'll seem lighter out there without all those "E"s rattling around
in your pack.
